Covenant signed for peaceful brgy election in Labuan PDF Print E-mail

With the objective of having peaceful and orderly special barangay election on Monday, the Labuan Police Station under Sr. Insp. Chester Natividad and other government agencies and personalities conducted a clean-up drive and initiated a peace covenant signing last Wednesday.

Councilor Roel Natividad, chairman of the City Council’s Committee on Peace and Order, and guest of honor during the event, witnessed the signing of the covenant.

Present during the activity aside from Natividad were incumbent barangay officials and new candidates, men of the 3rd Maneuver Company, Regional Public Safety Battalion, transport sector, 3rd MBLT, Rev. Fr. Louie Alejandro, Labuan parish priest, Ustadz Barrudin Tangcapa, representative, Labuan MADRAZA with other Muslim leaders and several stakeholders.

With this development, Sr. Insp. Natividad expressed optimism that the Nov. 25 barangay election will be very peaceful and orderly in their areas of jurisdiction

“The objective of the activity is to unite the community for honest, orderly and peaceful barangay election,” Natividad said.

The police officer, on the other hand, assured the community that he and his men will exert more efforts to secure the public even after the barangay election. – Dan Toribio Jr.
