PAGADIAN CITY — The local government and police here have mounted a campaign to dismantle all criminal groups, particularly those responsible for the series of robbery, in this city.
The campaign plan was mapped out during a recent meeting called by Mayor Romeo Pulmones following observation there is an increase in robbery cases in the city.
The latest incident was the robbery of the Emmanuel Trading, where a lone gunman carted away some P30,000.
Pulmones believe those involved in robbery incidents are “small time” group of criminals from neighboring towns but with connections with local criminals.
Pulmones noted that this group appears to be targeting people even those who are carrying small amount of money.
However, he said they should be stopped even though they are “small time” crime group.
“We need to stop their nefarious acts in the hope of making the city “a crime-free city,” he added.
He disclosed without elaboration that they have already identified some rogue criminals who are involved in robbery incidents here. — CSA
