Foreigner linked to MNLF attack in Zambo City nabbed in CDO PDF Print E-mail

A foreigner, who was linked to the MNLF group that attacked Zamboanga City last September 9, was arrested in Barangay Bulua, Cagayan de Oro early yesterday morning.

Nabbed was Daniel Xavier who has no permanent address in the country.

Xavier was arrested by men of the Regional Criminal and Detection Unit of Region 10, Intelligence Division and Regional Intelligence Division of Region 10 on the strength of a warrant with Case Nos. 28212 and 28213 for violation of Section 4b of the Republic Act 9851 and Case NO. 28214 for rebellion.

The warrant of arrest were issued by Regional Trial Court of the 9th Judicial region, Branch 16, Zamboanga City.

Xavier was charged along with MNLF rebels captured during the siege in the city.

A police report disclosed that the government discovered Xavier conniving with Nur Misuari’s group in the Zamboanga siege.

Xavier was seen inside the house of Misuari in San Roque during a press conference before the attack.

Moreover, Xavier pretended to be a representative of the United Nations and assured the MNLF chairman of UN support to Misuari’s declaration of independence. – Dan Toribio Jr.
