NCMF, AFP set to hold peace dev’t workshop PDF Print E-mail

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) in partnership with the Armed forces of the Philippines (AFP) is holding a stakeholders conference on Muslim concerns with the objective of strengthening socio-econwnic cohesion in the context of peace building through the active participation of Muslim Filipinos in order to attain a just and lasting peace in Mindanao.

The conference will be held on December 3-4, 2013 at the Poolside Hall, Cecile’s Catering and Pension House, Tumaga, Por Centro, Zamboanga City.

NCMF Secretary Mehol K. Sadain has directed in his Memorandum to Acting Regional Director Dennison M. Abidin to coordinate with personnel from the Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) for the preparation and consolidation of the localized Multi-Agency Workshop.

Sec. Sadarn enstructed Abidin to coordinate and invite participants coming from the different government agencies and civil society organizations to attend the workshop.

Objective: Validating and prioritizing issues

1. What are the existing issues and concerns in Muslim Mindanao that need immediate intervention

2. What were the different government initiatives aimed to address these issues?

3.  What were the perceived gaps in these efforts?

4. What were the factors that hindered the implementation or effectiveness of these interventions?

5. Any recommendations?

The unsolved Moro issue has been written in history as a struggle of the Moro towards peace in Mindanao, The NCMF is for peace in Mindanao.
