In celebration of its 80th anniversary, The Department of Labor and Employment will be holding a city-wide JOBS FAIR on December 5 at the compound of the Philippine National Red Cross Training Centeralong Pettit Barracks.

As of this writing, the DOLE solicited over a thousand job vacancies from participating establishments. This is expected to burgeon once the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration gathers vacancies from overseas employment agencies.

Among the local employers who will be participating are Sheridan Group of Companies, Surequick Marketing, MDSI, Western Mindanao Power Corporation, Columbus Seafoods Corp, JobFit Manpower Services and Safety Enterprises,

Interested applicants who want to join may pre-register with the DOLE Zamboanga City Field Office any time during office hours from today to December 3.  In case applicants are not able to pre-register, SRS forms will be made available to them at the Jobs Fair site.

DOLE-9 Director Sisinio Cano said the Jobs Fair is intended to match jobseekers with available job vacancies. The Jobs Fair is also an indication of possible growth in the economy as employers are asked to indicate if these jobs are a result of business expansion or merely accession.

“Overall, the jobs fair is used as a major indicator in the quest for job creation and job preservation”, he added.
