A 44-year-old man was shot to death by a gunman in Barangay Mangusu last Wednesday night.

The fatality was identified as Winifredo Perez y Molina, married. He sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.

A police report disclosed that Perez was walking on his way to the bathroom around 7 p.m. when a gunman appeared and shot him several times.

Police said the assailant escaped after the incident.

The body was brought to the Gamalinda Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination.

Police were looking into personal grudge as the possible motive behind the killing.

Meanwhile, a  Grade 3 pupil of Curuan Elementary School was injured after she was accidentally bumped by a motorcycle at Sitio Gasang the other day.

Mariane Dagalea, 9, of Curuan, sustained bruises in the body and was taken to the hospital where she was declared out of danger.

Dagalea was accidentally bumped by a Skygo motorcycle driven by Larry Ferrer, 20, of Curuan.

Police said that Ferrer was traveling towards Upper Sitio Gasang when the girl crossed the road resulting in the accident around 5:40 p.m.

Ferrer surrendered to the police after the incident. — Dan Toribio Jr.
