In a continuous fight against the proliferation of prohibited drugs in the city, the police arrested a 60-year-old woman and her two sons in a shabu buy-bust operation in Sta. Catalina last Friday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as Aida Pening y Fontanilla, married, her two sons Jeffrey Pening, 23, and Roseller Pening, 33. Another son, Jessie Pening eluded arrest. They are residents of Betty 1 Drive, Sta. Catalina.

They were nabbed by operatives of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, formerly the mobile group.

During the operation, police confiscated from the suspects’ possession two small packs of shabu, P400 marked money, 10 empty sachets ready for repacking, two improvised plastic scoops and two strips of aluminum foil.

The arrested suspects were taken to the ZCPSC for investigation while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.—Dan Toribio Jr.
