A businessman, his live-in partner and an expectant father were shot and wounded in two separate shooting incidents in Guiwan and Curuan Thursday night.

Wounded were Allan Fausto Apolinario y Cortez, a businessman  and his live-in partner Alelie Dicheta Sanson of Guiwan and Ruben Barrera of Curuan.

Apolinario and Sanson were shot by a lone gunman at Cadena de Amor, Guiwan near the Jumbo Bridge around 6:30 p.m. Both were wounded in the neck.

The gunman used a .45 cal. pistol.

The couple was brought to the Western Mindanao Medical Center for treatment. The assailant fled towards unknown direction.

Two spent shells of .45 cal. pistol were recovered at the crime scene,

Police were still trying to determine the motive of the shooting.

Barrera, whose wife was expected to deliver a baby, was shot by Jovin Johnson using an unknown firearm at Sitio Gasang, Curuan. He sustained a gunshot wound in the body and was brought to the  Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police said Barrera was on his way to get someone to assist his wife who was on labor pain when Johnson shot him around 7 p.m.
