Government forces raided the house of a suspected drug lord in Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte and confiscated big volume of shabu the other day.

A police report disclosed that agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), men of the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Public Safety Company, Gutalac Municipal Police Station and Second Maneuvering Platoon, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office were armed with a search warrant when they raided the house of  Ivan Sanchez y Villegas alias Chu-Chu, 34, married.

During the raid, lawmen recovered 38 rectangular transparent sachets containing white crystalline granules believed to shabu, 15 strips of aluminum foil, 4 bundles of transparent plastic cellophanes, a .45 caliber pistol with serial number 827153 with two magazines loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition,  one yellow Mentos plastic cellophane used as container, one ML Kwarta Padala receipt, two pairs of scissors, three cell phones one USB  flash drive and money amounting to P7,464 which are proceeds from shabu pushing.

Report said that before the raid, a buy-bust operation was carried out where Sanchez handed to an undercover agent three sachets containing white crystalline granules believed to be shabu, three rolled aluminum foil strips, three cut papers used as wrapper, one matchbox, one cut matchbox and a marked P1,000 bill with serial number BL870698 that was recovered from the Sanchez’ possession.

After the buy-bust operation, the raid was carried out. It was witnessed by barangay officials, representatives from the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte and from the media.

Sanchez was brought to the Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Headquarters and was temporarily detained while the seized items were turned over to Levie Ortes, Deputy Regional Director PDEA 9 for court exhibit. — Dan Toribio Jr.
