The city government, through the City Administrator’s Office, is reminding adult individuals who plan to go caroling to secure the necessary permit from City Hall.

City Administrator Antonio Orendain, Jr. issued the reminder Monday as the caroling season is fast-approaching.

The caroling period is from December 16 to December 24, Christmas Eve.

“Those who intend to go caroling, especially adults, you should be informed that you are required to secure a permit,”    Orendain said, citing the permit can be secured at his office for free.

He said that civic groups, schools and other organizations are among those required to secure caroling permit.

In applying for permit, Orendain said they must indicate in the letter the areas where they will carol and other related details to include where the money collected will be used.

He said child carolers are not required to secure permit from his office.

Caroling is a Filipino tradition every Yuletide Season wherein children render Christmas songs in front of residences in exchange for money, and are usually handed some coins. — RGAAG
