Ayala businessman shot by holduppers PDF Print E-mail

Police have mounted a hot pursuit operation against two holduppers who shot and wounded a businessman and took his P5,000 in cash in Ayala last Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Jerry Ebias y Lee, 45, of Zone 7, Ayala. He sustained a bullet wound in the back and was taken to the hospital.

Ayala Police Station chief Sr. Insp. Edilberto Alvarez disclosed that Ebias and his daughter Jerika Jinelle were about to leave their mini grocery around 7:20 p.m. when two men appeared and grabbed the bag of his daughter containing the P5,000. Ebias tried to fight the holduppers but one of them shot him in the body.

The holduppers fled with the money while Ebias was rushed to the hospital.

Initial hot pursuit operation yielded negative result. The perpetrators were nowhere to be found.

DZT gathered that the holduppers were from nearby Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte  who come to the city to commit atrocities.

Recovered at the crime scene were two spent shells of .45 caliber pistol.

In Isabela City, a retired teacher turned businessman was also shot by one of three young men who entered his store yesterday.

The victim was identified as Reynaldo Jalao.

Report said that three young men entered Jalao’s store, shot him and escaped aboard a red Honda XRM motorcycle.

Investigators were looking into robbery as the motive behind the incident. – Dan Toribio Jr.
