Around 1,300 policemen under the Zamboanga City Police Office will get free Anti Flu and Anti Pneumonia vaccinations today until December 19.

This is made possible through the facilitation of Councilor VP Elago who chairs the Sangguniang Panglunsod Committee on Health.

According to Elago, he requested this health activity from the Department of Health regional office five months ago and was supposed to have been implemented last September but due to the siege it had to be postponed.

Elago added that the vaccines will help Zamboanga policemen stay free from flu and pneumonia for a prescribed period 24/7 thus making them more dependable and efficient in their duty.

The Councilor from District 2 wishes to thank DOH 9 for granting his request as well as Mayor Beng Climaco, the Sangguniang Panglunsod and City Health Office for supporting this worthwhile project.

Zamboanga City is perhaps the first city in the country to implement this type of  health project on the police force.
