An alleged thief operating inside the Enriquez Sports Complex was collared by baseball players yesterday morning.

The suspect was identified as Alrasid Amin, a resident of Baliwasan, this city. He was taken to the City Police Office and was detained pending the filing of charges against him in court.

A police report disclosed that two baseball players, who are competing in Cong. Erbie A. Fabian’s Zambolympics. discovered their two cellular phones missing last Tuesday.

They said that it was a man who was later identified as Amin who was seen roaming around the area where they placed their personal things.

Moments later, Amin disappeared after they discovered their cellular phones missing.
Yesterday morning while the baseball team was playing, they spotted Amin pretending as an athlete. Afterwards, they saw Amin trying to steal other valuables from the bags of other players, prompting them to collar him.

Amin was turned over to policemen of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company detailed at the stadium.

Stadium personnel said they have received several complaints from players and other people going to the stadium  regarding their valuables stolen by thieves. — Dan Toribio Jr.
