Five gunmen held up a provincial bus and robbed its passengers of some P50,000 along the highway in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last Monday.

A police report disclosed that one of the passengers was injured after he was pistol whipped by one of the holduppers because he refused to hand over his money.

The bus, belonging to the Rural Transit of Mindanao, came from Pagadian City and on its way to Zamboanga City when five men pretending to be passengers board it in Kabasalan.

While the bus was negotiating the highway going to Ipil town proper, the five men drew their guns and announced a holdup. They went from one seat row to another and divested the passengers of money, cellphones and jewelries.

No details were available on how the five holduppers escaped after staging the holdup.
