OWWA celebrates ‘OFW Family day’ PDF Print E-mail

Thousands of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in the Zamboanga Peninsula are expected to join the annual “OFW Family Day” celebration on December 20, 2013 (Friday), at the OWWA Regional Office-9 in Canelar, this city.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Regional Director Hassan Gabra Jumdain said OWWA and its sister agency, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE),  in coordination with the Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI), will be celebrating the annual occasion for OFWs and their families with this year’s theme: “Karangalan at Serbisyo sa OFW.”

“This is noble and simple tribute to all OFW who work so hard by bringing sustainable Philippine economy, so, everybody is welcome to celebrate with us on this annual tribute,” Jumdain said.

The occasion will start at 8:30 to 9:10 a.m.  for the registration of participants followed by the Opening Remarks and message of the Administrator to be led by Jumdain, while DOLE Regional Director, TESDA Regional Director Engr. Lorenzo Macapili and a representative of BPI will share their respective messages.

Highlighting the occasion is the raffle draw and parlor games for Children’s category, Youth games and Couple’s games.  — MLF
