Police have forwarded charges against three female abortionists who were arrested during an entrapment operation in San Roque recently.

The suspects identified as Bernadita Kembo y Orquijo, 24, Wendelina Bernabe y Kembo, 48, and Maricel Kembo y Locson, 20, all residents of San Roque availed of the 15-day waiver and were detained at the city police office.

The trio were nabbed by operatives of the PRO 9’s Women and Children Protection Desk and men of the Sta. Maria Police Station in an entrapment operation.

Lawmen along with a woman pretending to be pregnant and poised to get service from the three women to abort her baby went to the house of the latter while policemen positioned themselves few meters away.

After the woman handed over P2,000 marked money to the three suspects and while they were about to perform the abortion, policemen came in and arrested the trio.

Aside from the P2,000 marked money, police also confiscated from their possession three tablets of cytotec, three pairs of gloves, one bottle of alcohol, three identification cards and one rolled white thread.

After their arrest, the suspects were taken to the Sta. Maria Police Station for investigation and for the filing of charges in court. – Dan Toribio Jr.
