An employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and two teenagers were stabbed and wounded by 10 unidentified persons along the highway in Calarian the other night.

The victims were identified as Edros Genesis Castili y Toledo, 29, a DPWH employee, of Purok 4, Malagutay, Ralph Joshua Velasco y De Guzman, 16 and Rex Carina y Bastiong, 17, both of Calarian. They sustained minor stab wounds in the body and were taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Initial investigation showed that the three were on their way to Lobregat Village from a videoke bar when a group of persons blocked their path and attacked them around 9 p.m.

Police said that one of the attackers armed with a knife stabbed the victims in their body.

The assailants then scampered in different directions when policemen of the Special Action Force stationed at La Vista Del Mar rushed to the scene.

A policeman applied first aid to the victims before they were brought to the hospital.  – Dan Toribio Jr.
