A man who identified himself as a policeman was nabbed by men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan for possession of questionable gun at the vicinity of a hotel  along Gov. Camins Avenue last Wednesday morning.

Nabbed was Jeffrey Antonio y Rezel, 38, married, of Talon-Talon. Confiscated from his possession was a .45 caliber pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.

A police report disclosed that while ABC election was underway  at the said hotel, Antonio was spotted by policemen detailed in the area acting suspiciously with a gun tucked on his waist.

When confronted, Antonio introduced himself as a policeman of the Tetuan Police Station.

However during interrogation, Antonio failed to produce any paper legalizing him to carry the pistol.

Police said Antonio only presented two identification cards of a confidential agent.

Antonio was taken to the city police office while the confiscated firearm was turned over to an investigator. – Dan Toribio Jr.
