Mayor Beng Climaco the other day played Santa Claus to the city government’s 448 job order workers as she distributed their yearend cash gift and sacks of rice at Centro Latino, Paseo del Mar Complex.

In her short message, Climaco thanked the JO workers for helping the city government in the delivery of basic services to the people for which she said the city government had to find ways to be able to give at least any amount for them this Christmas.

She lamented that the city government is short of funds to give equal amount to all JOs, saying that the only amount available was P600,000 which is not enough for equal distribution to all.

Assisting the mayor were Assistant City Human Resource Management Officer Roderico Lucero and staff.

According to Lucero, JO workers who had served the city government for at least one year and above received P2,000 each, those 9 months above received P1,500 each, while those who served less than 9 months received P500 each.

While the cash distribution was ongoing, the lady chief executive personally served snacks, to the delight of the JO workers.

Also this week, Climaco personally distributed the extra bonus to all regular, casual and co-terminus employees of the city government at P28,000 each. The amount, however, varied, according to the employees’ length of service. — Vic Larato
