SCC cites RMN’s role in Sept. siege Print

The administration of Southern City Colleges recognized the good job of RMN-Zamboanga in the September 9 for bringing right information to the public.

Seven men and a woman of RMN’s DXRZ 900 led by AVP Rey Bayuging were given plaques of appreciation during the SCC’s Employees Christmas Party last Saturday.

No less than SCC president Edwin Caliolio handed over the plaques to the awardees.

Awarded were RMN-Zamboanga station manager Joel Toledo Sanson, Marlon “Bhong” Simbajon, Jimmy Villaflores, Jesus “Paichu” Basilio, Rolly “Negra” Carpio and Merasol Monteza.

Caliolio said that the men and women of RMN-Zamboanga once again proved their bravery in the name of public service where all of them risked their lives to cover the siege from day one up to the last gunfight and during the humanitarian activities.

Caliolio said that RMN brought the news and information not only to the nation, but to the entire world via internet.

Aside from RMN, the school also recognized the bravery of some military personnel who also played very special role during the siege as they defended the city.

During the occasion, this reporter who graduated high school in the said school in 1995 reunited with his former teachers like Mr. Robert Jurado, Mr. Ronald Bucoy, Mr.  Jessie De Castro, Ms. Elizabeth Manera, Engr. Jawel, Mrs. Linugon and others. – Dan Toribio Jr.
