At least 11 public and private schools belonging to the Division of Zamboanga City have qualified for the upcoming National Schools Press Conference  (NSPC) slated early next year after they topped the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) conducted last Dec. 11-13 in Pagadian City.

The Zamboanga Division retains its championship title in the RSPC for the third straight year now.

In the elementary (English category), the Guiwan Elementary School bagged the first place in Editorial Cartooning with Don Gregorio Evangelista Memorial School (Don GEMS) placed third. The Zamboanga West Central School placed second in News Writing while the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) placed third in Editorial Writing.

In the elementary (Filipino category), Don GEMS and Tetuan Central School placed first and second in Editorial Writing.

The Regional Science High School bagged the first and second placed in Feature Writing while the Ayala National High School landed first place in News Writing.

The Filipino category, meanwhile, was dominated by the RSHS and the Zamboanga National High School for placing first in Editorial Writing and Editorial Cartooning, respectively, with Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat Memorial High School also placed first in Feature Writing.

The first place in Science and Technology writing (Filipino category) went to the Western Mindanao State University with Manicahan National High School in the third place, while the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School was second placer in Copyreading and Headline Writing.

The Division of Zamboanga City also ranked first placers in the Division Highest Pointers Individual Contest (Secondary Filipino) with 42 points and in the Division Highest Pointers Individual Contest (Elementary Filipino).

Other division awards included 3rd place in Division Individual Pointers (Elementary English), 3rd place in Group Contest Category and 3rd place in the Division Highest Pointers Individual Contest (Secondary English) with 33 points.
