2 killed in fresh gun violence PDF Print E-mail

Two persons were killed in two fresh shooting incidents in Baliwasan and Recodo last Saturday night at dawn yesterday.

Rogelio Sarian Alejandero, 28, single, a resident of Lustre, Sta. Catalina, an evacuee and temporarily residing in Baliwasan Grande, sustained bullet wounds in the body.

A police report disclosed that Alejandero went out of the house in Baliwasan around 10 p.m.. A few seconds later, shots were heard in the vicinity.

Alejandro then was discovered lying bloodied on the ground. He was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.

Policemen recovered four spent shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Amzani Jholmaz, 27, of Arena Blanco was shot to death by a gunman at Purok 7, Recodo around 1:20 a.m.

A sketchy police report disclosed that Jholmaz came from Purok 3  when he was chased by a gunman who was armed with a .45 caliber pistol. He was shot three times.

The killer escaped after the incident.

Jholmaz sustained gunshot wounds in the chest and cheek and died on the spot.

Police were still investigating both cases as well as other shooting incidents that took place in a spate of gun violence since December in Zamboanga City. — Dan Toribio Jr.
