Village chief dead in Sibugay gun attack PDF Print E-mail

A village chief was killed, while a barangay treasurer was wounded in a gun attack in Barangay Maganay, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay the other day.

Killed was Wiliro Elisan, barangay chairman of Sta. Ctruz, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay. Wounded was Juanito Encallado, barangay treasurer.

A police report disclosed that Elisan and Encallado were back-riding a motorcycle driven by Reynaldo Baldicasa, barangay councilman of the same place along the highway of Maganay, Buug when gunmen opened fire on them around 11:15 in the morning.

Police said that Elisan sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot, while  Encallado was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Recovered at the crime scene were seven spent shells of 9mm pistol and .45 caliber pistol and a Springfield armory with serial number W824172 with a magazine loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition owned by the slain barangay chairman.
