As the citywide war against illegal drugs continues, six persons were arrested in two fresh separate drug buy-bust operations carried out by the police in Sta. Maria, Recodo and Pasonanca.

Lito Gagaracruz alias Peto, 33, of San Roque, Jonathan Campos, 19, of De Leon St.,  Sta. Maria and Arnold Delgado, 38, of Luyahan, Pasonanca were nabbed by men of the Central Police Station.

Recovered from their possession were five sachets of shabu, P300 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

The same team conducted another buy-bust operation in Recodo that led to the arrest of Michael Cadiz, 21, and Ronnick Devila, 26.

Confiscated from their possession were four sachets of shabu, P300 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects were detained at the police station while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

Police took the suspects yesterday to the City Prosecutor Office for inquest proceeding for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Act of 2005.

Meanwhile, men of the Sta. Maria Police Station arrested Samelito Salvejo, 28, of Toribio Drive, Pasonanca in another buy-bust operation.

Confiscated from his possession was a sachet of shabu and P500 amrked money.

Based on data and actual observations, shabu peddling is present in majority of the 98 barangays in Zamboanga City.

Police records indicate almost daily drug buy-bust is carried out that has netted several drug pushers.– Dan Toribio Jr.
