“I’m appealing to you to join me in this challenge to make Zamboanga a safe city for all of us.”

Thus said District 2 Councilor Roel “Elong” Natividad. who was guest of honor and Inducting Officer during the Mass Oath-Taking and Donning of Rank ceremonies at the Quadrangle ground of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Tuesday.

Natividad, who is the chairman of the City Council’s Committee on Peace and Order, said 2013 was a “crisis year” towards the end of making it a tremendous history for Zamboangueños.

“But let us not think of yesteryear’s crisis instead together let us make a new year’s resolution that we can do more to build back better Zamboanga,” Natividad stressed.

The alderman of Tetuan emphasized that there is a need to work in unison with PNP’s vision and harmony with the community to attain stable peace and order in the city.

“You were promoted because you deserve it. But I’m also challenging you to continue that vision and show to your family, your colleagues and the public to be the role models of our city,” Natividad said.

City Police Office OIC Supt. Alan Nazarro said a total of one 139 personnel were promoted to the next higher rank to include Commissioned and Non-Commissioned officers.

“This is pursuant to the 2nd Level Commissioned and Non-Commissioned officers promoted under 4th quarter of 2013 Regular Promotion Program and the simultaneous Mass Oath-Taking ceremony,” Nazarro said. —MLF
