RPN-DXXX-Zamboanga officially launched new programs over the radio and via internet which started yesterday.

RPN-DXXX Station Manager Jerry Lacastesantos said the new programs will hook up DWIZ-Manila from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring popular and veteran radio broadcasters and commentators Rey Langit and Mon Tulfo.

This will be followed by “Zamboanga Tiempo Ya” from 7pm to 9pm hosted by local veteran announcer Philip Abuy back-to-back with Mon Follosco as co-host and the “Noche De Ronda” (The original) hosted by Jerry Lacastesantos from 9pm to 11pm.

“Zamboanga Tiempo Ya” (Saturday Edition) from 7pm to 9pm is being hosted by Arnold “Ronda Ace” Francisco and Ric “Ronda Spade” Gamao featuring news reports on local occurrence.

Lacastesantos said the set-up is being applied to all provincial 14  radio stations nationwide and can also be seen via internet by logging DXXX/TV5-Zamboanga City, with all local programs can be seen via u-stream from 7pm to 11 o’clock in the evening.

RPN-DXXX-Zamboanga got its fame during the 1976 7.9 magnitude earthquake that devastated major parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula with Pagadian City as the worst hit.

With that incident, “Noche De Ronda” emerged with the late founding father and former councilor Eddie Rodriguez as broadcaster and commentator and still the longest serving nightly public affairs radio programs in the entire Mindanao. — Monch L. Follosco
