The city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) has facilitated the hiring of close to a hundred call center agents to be assigned in Davao, Pampanga and Metro Manila, in line with its intensive employment campaign.

Since last month, the Cyber Teleservice Company had been conducting interviews and screening procedures thru the PESO under City Social Welfare and Development Officer Francisco Barredo.
Some 170 applicants passed the preliminary selection scheme and later underwent series of trainings. Of the total number, 71 applicants were hired.

The next batch of qualified applicants will commence training today, consisting of 25 aspiring call center agents.

The City is opening the door of employment opportunities thru coordination with private and public entities. Just last month, Barredo disclosed that 38 construction workers were hired when EEI Constructions-the contractor to build the edifice of Bangko Sentral, tapped the City Government for the hiring of their needed manpower.

On top of that, the City will also hire more than 3,000 high school and college students under the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) or most commonly known as the summer job program, Barredo added. — City Hall PIO
