A speeding D-Max pick-up truck rammed 10 motorcycles, one tricycle and a bicycle, injuring the latter’s driver at dawn yesterday along Gov. Camins Avenue, this city.

PO2 Jerry Tarroza, case investigator, disclosed that the D-Max pick-up truck owned by Pepsi Cola issued to Bob Flores, manager Zamboanga Branch, and driven by his personal driver Roosevelt Bais, was heading west on a very high speed around 1 a.m. when the accident took place.

Tarroza said that Bais lost control of the steering wheel and crashed on a store and rammed 10 motorcycles and a tricycle, all parked outside a videoke bar.

Rommel Gan, who was riding a bicycle, was also bumped by the D-Max. He suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital.

Almost all of the affected motorcycles were wrecked due to the strongimpact, while others can still be repaired.

Bais denied that he was drunk when the accident happened.
All the affected vehicles were impounded at the central police station pending further investigation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
