Men of the City Police Office’s Investigation Section on Sunday arrested five persons including a pregnant woman who were tagged as behind the robbery at the Sta. Barbara Elementary School the other day.

Arrested were Hajam Arakani, 22, his wife Donisia Indasan, 30, both of Calarian, Hussin Kasim, 25, Kimhar Abdula, 28 and Ismael Arab, 30, all residents of Sta. Barbara.

Police recovered from their possession stolen items such as a wide projector board/screen worth P300,000 which was donated by the USAID, a pair of sound boxes, computers, water dispenser and many others.

Arakani and Indasan have bought some of the stolen items while other valuables were still being put on sale.

A police report disclosed Ma. Daisie Ebrada y Garcia, 46, single, principal of Sta. Barbara Elementary School, reported to the police that around 9 a.m. last Saturday they discovered a robbery at the school.

During ocular investigation policemen found out that the principal’s office and at the ICT room were forcibly opened.

Several school properties were found missing and believed to have been taken by robbers.

Police said the robbery took place after military forces deployed in the school campus during and after the siege last year left the place last January 21.

The suspects were detained at the central police station while appropriate charges were being readied against them. – Dan Toribio Jr.
