Kidnappers seize school supervisor in Zambo Sur PDF Print E-mail

A public school supervisor was abducted at gunpoint by eight gunmen believed to be members of a kidnap-for-ransom group in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur, last Monday.

Abducted was Rudy Luna of Barangay Diplo, Kumalarang. His wife Tessie, also a school supervisor, was able to escape during the abduction.

Both husband and wife are school supervisors in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

A police report disclosed that the abduction took place a day after government forces arrested in separate operations 10 suspects in the kidnap-slay of a businessman’s son in the same province.

The report said the gunmen broke into the couple’s residence in Diplo and dragged them out around 8 p.m.

The couple was taken to the shore at Sitio Dacun, Barangay Picanan, aboard the victims’ sports utility vehicle.

However while they were being brought to a get-away pumpboat, Tessie was managed to escape.

Police also recovered Luna’s vehicle along the shore after the incident.

Last Sunday, government troops arrested 10 suspects in the kidnap-slay of Edmund Corpuz, son of a businessman in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

Corpuz, was seized last November 27, 2013 while he was fetching his nephew from a school in Pagadian City.

The Corpuz family owns vast track of ricefield and operates a rice mill in Labangan.

Police said that five of the 10 suspects were arrested in Labangan and the five others  in a follow-up operation in Balabagan, Lanao del Sur.

Nabbed in Purok Manga 2, Barangay New Labangan were Ray Mansa and his wife Lucita, Ronald Luzon, Jovencio Luzon, and Hamedi Balatocal.

The suspects were arrested following the arrest of Balatocal in an entrapment after he was tasked by the kidnappers to pick up the P150,000 they had demanded from the victim’s family.

Arrested in a follow up operation in Barangay Molimok, Balabagan were Danny Luzon, Dante Mangubat, Sergio Cabana, Efren Sisiban Jr., and, Efren Sisiban, Sr.

The follow-up operation was carried out after Balatocal revealed that he was told to deliver the P150,000 to their companions in Balabagan.

Government forces recovered Corpuz’s motorcycle and a motorized banca the kidnappers used in bringing the victim to Lanao del Sur.
