A 33-year-old man with multiple stab wounds in the body was found unconscious at the vicinity of Justina Village in Tumaga last Saturday night.

Police identified the attempted rubout victim as Neil Murad y Batules, single, of Isabela City.

Murad was rushed to a private hospital where he was treated.

Initial investigation disclosed that Murad was stabbed by six unidentified men who brought him to the place aboard a van around 10 p.m.

Witnesses told the police that six men speaking in Tausug sped away after dumping  the wounded Murad.

During a visit by policemen at the hospital, they could not get any statement from the victim as he could not speak due to serious stab wounds.

Men of the Sta. Maria police station were still trying to determine the identities of the assailants and the motive behind the attempted rubout.

Police have appealed to witnesses to come forward and identify the assailants. — Dan Toribio Jr.
