Beng unveils wellness center in Brgy Putik PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday unveiled the newly rehabilitated wellness center amounting to P2 million in Barangay Putik, this city.

The Putik Wellness Center is one of the projects funded by the Department of Health (DOH) in coordination with the city government of Zamboanga through the City Health Office.

Mayor Climaco thanked the DOH for the assistance to the city, stressing that health is one of her administration’s priority thrusts, next to security and education.

According to City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos, the DOH has allocated the amount of P44 million for the construction and rehabilitation of health centers in the barangays that had been affected by the 23-day siege last September.

He said another DOH-funded health centers are ongoing construction in barangays Mangusu, Arena Blanco and Guiwan.

Present during the turnover and blessing of the wellness center were Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, Councilors Jawo Jimenes, BG Guingona, Eddie Saavedra, VP Elago and Gerry Perez along with DOH representatives, barangay officials and Fr. Joel Malcampo.— Vic Larato
