A truck and a mini-bus carrying sand cargo were intercepted recently by lawmen in two the city’s west coast

A reaction team of the Sinunuc Police Station led by Insp. Antonio Ancheta while manning a checkpoint in Calarian intercepted an Isuzu dump truck driven by Romel Binaybay, a native of Misamis Oriental, around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, It was loaded with sand.

A police report disclosed that the apprehension of the truck was based on “visual violation” of City Ordinance 2002-094 as amended by Ccity Ordinance 2012-162.

Around 1:40 p.m. of the same day, the same team intercepted an Isuzu mini bus loaded with nine sacks of sand and driven by James Leonor of Mampang.

Police said that a clear violation of City Ordinance 2002-094 as amended by City Ordinance 2012-162 prompted them to hold the vehicle as well as its cargo.

Both vehicles were brought to the Sinunuc Police Station while the drivers were placed under investigation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
