The National Competitiveness Council (NCC) through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) requests business owners once again to participate in this year’s Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) Customer Experience Survey.

The survey results according to the NCC will enable the council to evaluate the experience of businessmen in the renewal process of their Mayor’s permit and to recommend appropriate measures, if needed, for concerned local government units (LGUs) to improve their services, particularly in the issuance of business permits and licenses.

DTI-9 Officer in-Charge Dr. Sitti Amina Jain also made a personal appeal for the full cooperation of business owners in Zamboanga Peninsula to take part in this annual survey of the NCC. “We want your feedback so we would know whether the BPLs streamlining initiatives we have undertaken jointly with the LGUs and the DILG in the region have indeed resulted to a better, faster, more efficient, and more transparent services, especially those LGUs that have already undertaken the BPLS reforms, Dr. Jain said.

She also appeals for the help of the local media in the dissemination of this information to the public.

Dr. Jain said business owners/respondents need only at most five minutes to log on at, fill up the survey form and upload their reply. The survey runs from January until February 14, 2014. — Lowell S. Vallecer
