A 74-year-old man and his wife and their granddaughter were killed and robbed by armed men who broke into their farmhouse in Barangay Switch Yakal in Lantawan, Basilan at noon last Monday.

A police report identified the fatalities as Pablo Guerrero and his wife Teresa and grandaughter Trixie.

Police said the Guerrero couple and granddaughter went to Lantawan, Basilan from Zamboanga City to look into their piece of land and the crops planted thereat.

Men, whose identities the police have already known, broke into the Guerrero farm house, beat them and the child to death, and ransacked the house of valuables.

Shocked relatives said they never thought the aging couple and the innocent granddaughter would meet a brutal death in the hands merciless and barbaric persons.

Chief Insp. Basiri Hassan, Lantawan police chief, said they have already identified the killers, but cannot divulge it so as not to jeopardize ongoing police operation to arrest them.
