Police on Saturday arrested three men tagged as behind the gun slaying of an oil depot employee in Suterville last February 17.

Nabbed were Guillermo Sasabo, married, Jobert Delos Reyes, married, both of Mampang and Ruben Clementa, married of Sto. Niño.

Recovered from Sasabo’s possession was a .45 caliber pistol loaded with 5 rounds of ammunition, while  a Honda XRM motorcycle was taken from Delos Reyes.

The trio were arrested during a follow-up operation carried out by men of the Investigation Section around 3:30 p.m. in Barangay Sto. Niño. They were detained at the city police office pending the filing of charges against them in court.

Sasabo, Delos Reyes and Clementa were positively identified by a lone witness in the killing of Joey Malaki y Mabolo, 30, of San Roque and working at the Petron Depot.

Malaki was riding a mountain bike on his way to work passing Suterville, when three men aboard a motorcycle appeared and one of them shot him in the head near Suterville’s junction with Baliwasan Seaside.

The motive behind the killing is unknown as Malaki’s relatives are shocked on what happened to him. They described him as a good man having no dispute with other persons. It was learned that Malaki was attending services at the Alliance evangelical church and was a bright student when he was in high school. – Dan Toribio Jr.
