DOLEPHIL employees told: Work hard for your families PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. of Tupi municipality in South Cotabato has called on employees of DOLE Philippines to love their work and do their best for the good of their families and children so that DOLEPHIL can sustain their needs and all of them to have good life.

Mayor Tamayo was one of the guest speakers during the Collective Bargaining Agrreement signing ceremonies between DOLEPHIL and the Employees Association for the period of February 10, 2013 to February 10, 2016. The event was held in the company gym in Barangay Cannery Site, Polomolok, South Cotabato last Ferbuary 8.

Tamayo told the employees that if there is misunderstanding or miscommunication regarding labor rights, they should talk it right away in the table with the employer to come up with win-win solutions.

He advised the workers not to listen to evil minded people who cause troubles and  motivate them to go on strike.

Tamayo said that labor strikes and chaos will stop economic activities which would affect their families, especially the education and sustenance  of their children.

The mayor said the workers should protect and love their work in DOLEPHIL who gives them daily susteinance.    DOLEPHIL has been serving the people in the Philippines and the whole world for more than 50 years by supplying pineapples.

Tamayo said that Tupi is one of the major areas where fresh pineapples are planted and harvested.

On the other hand,  Simon F. Denye, vice president and managing director of DOLEPHIL,  told the employees that one pineapple is a thousand jobs. The target of DOLEPHIL is to supply around the world with foods.

“We want you to be happy in working with DOLEPHIL,” Denye said.

During the signing employees where given their monthly rice allocations and rewards.

South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes urged the employees to do good in their work  for the future of their families and children.

Director Ofelia B. Domingo of the Department of Labor and Employment 12 also advised the employees to have a good relationship with their  employer and do the best they can in DOLEPHIL so that their families will grow. — Allen Abastillas
