Gunmen seize resto caretaker in Lamitan PDF Print E-mail

Gunmen abducted a restaurant caretaker at Aguinaldo Street, Barangay Matibay, Lamitan at dawn yesterday.

Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Lt. Col. Randolf Cabangbang identified the victim as Rolando Dela Cruz, caretaker of Cawley Restaurant, owned by businessman Charlie Cawley.
The abduction took place around 1:30 a.m.

Cabangbang identified the Dela Cruz’ abductors as Nurhassan Jamiri, Ustadz Salim Tado and a certain Abu Pula.

The Wesmincom spokesperson said the kidnappers burned their get-away multicab at Sitio Lagasan, Barangay Kulay Bato, Lamitan.

According to residents, the kidnappers and their hostage fled on foot towards Sitio Libi, Barangay Bulanting after burning the vehicle.

Policemen and soldiers were dispatched to track down the kidnappers and rescue Dela Cruz.
