A businessman and his family escaped unhurt when unidentified men lobbed a hand grenade into their residential  compound in Talon-Talon last Sunday night.

Police said the grenade attack took place at the house of Jul Asiri Lacbao, 63, married, of Hawaii, Urban Poor, in Logoy Diutay, Talon-Talon around 10:30 p.m.

Initial investigation showed that Lacbao and other members of the family were sleeping when they were shaken by a loud explosion.

Bomb experts said the grenade landed and exploded fronting the main door of Lacbao’s house.

Tetuan Police Station commander Chief Insp. Felix Martinez said that no one was hurt in the explosion which caused some minor damages.

Martinez said that based on the account of Lacbao who is engaged in used clothing (ukay-ukay) business, he did not received any threat from any person, that’s why he is puzzled why his house came under grenade attack. – Dan Toribio Jr.
