Men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan arrested a tricycle passenger who was caught in possession of suspected shabu Wednesday night.

Arrested was Benhar Sahid y Asamuddin, 30, married, of Kasanyangan.

Gadayan said his men confiscated from Sahid’s possession two sachets containing suspected shabu.

Gadayan’s men were conducting a police checkpoint along Veterans Avenue when they accosted Sahid around 11:45 p.m.

Police said that during a “plain view” inspection, lawmen noticed Sahid was holding a plastic container that prompted them to call his attention.

When verified, policemen found out that the container has inside two sachets of suspected shabu.

Sahid was arrested and brought to the city police office while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

A case of violation of Section 11 of the Republic Act 9165 will be filed against Sahid if the laboratory result will show the sachets seized from him are methamphetamine hydrochloride. – Dan Toribio Jr.
