City Vet Office lines up anti-rabies activities PDF Print E-mail

In line with the city’s observance of Rabies Awareness Month, the Office of the City Veterinarian has lined up various rabies-related activities in the various districts of the city throughout the month.

Despite significantly cutting down rabies incidences in the city from 3 in 2012 to 1 last year, City Veterinarian Dr. Mario Arriola urges Zamboangueños to continue supporting the city’s anti-rabies campaign to ensure sustained success.

For the Ayala District, Rabies Awareness Month activities was launched yesterday at Sinunuc Elementary School. Similar activities will be held in Latap (March 13), Recodo (March 18), Spay and Neuter (March 19), Ayala (March 20-21), and Sinunuc (March 26-28).

For the Tumaga District, activities have kicked off at San Roque (March 6) and Baliwasan (March 7). Rabies-related activities will continue at Sta. Maria (March 8), Base Office Spay and Neuter (March 12), Tumaga (March 14), San Jose Gusu (March 21) and Capisan (March 25).

Culianan District will have their activities on March 13 and 19 at barangays Cabaluay and Mercedes, respectively.

Anti-rabies drives have also reeled off at Manicahan District, with the opening salvo held at Dulian-Upper Bunguiao and will close on March 26 at Manicahan.

Curuan and Vitali Districts will hold their Rabies Awareness Month activities at Latuan (March 14), Cansilayan (March18) and Tamion (March 13). — Claudine Uniana
