TICKLE ME PINK

BY Betty Elago

I think you will agree with me that it is hard to find true and sincere friends! Yes we may think we have many friends, but in reality, you will find out that you only have a few friends when you are down!

While browsing Face Book, I found this by Zane Baker, which states….”It’s during the worst storms of your life that you will get to see the true colors of the people who say they care about you!” This is not only true among friends, but this can also be true among relatives! They can be nice in front of you, but as soon as you turn your back, you become the topic of conversation! I think this is the favourite pastime of people who do nothing except to criticize people, and I guess they are the unhappy ones!! When I was newly married, my late mother in law would try to convince me to visit house to house, my late aunt in-laws, which they usually do, grouping themselves and enjoy each other’s company, but since I was the homely type, I didn’t follow her advice and perhaps, they thought of me as an aloof person.

One bad practice that ‘am disgusted about is when a relative or a friend becomes successful, there will be some who wouldn’t be happy, and the next thing they’ll do is to pull you down due to jealousy! I guess this is one Filipino trait that’s so disgusting, and I hope we will be able to take this out of our system!! When we make friends, be sure we are not the fair weathered friends who would only be there in good times, but when bad times come, you’re still around to keep company for moral support!
